The Nats
Another night, another 1-run victory. The Nats continue to win, and give the nation's capital something to cheer about. In a city that's been deprived of a winner (not counting the DC United) for way too long, the Nats have finally brought some glee to the area. This bunch of Canadian rejects actually is a great TEAM (look it up, Danny), with lots of young, hardworking, scrappy players and a 70 year old manager who doesn't take shit from anyone. I'm not quite calling for a world series ring just yet, but we're a couple weeks from the all-star break and the Nats are hanging on to first place in baseball's toughest, most competitive division.
If you're not on the bandwagon yet, hop aboard.
Here's the Bhaiya list of reasons to be a Nats fan, first and foremost
- No egos. No overpaid washed up vets. No headcases, err actually Jose Guillen is a certifiable head case but more in the sense of Saci V than Rod Strickland.
- Winning by defense. Chad "The Chief" Cordero sure knows how to close out a game. 17 straight converted saves, I believe.
- Sweet colors. Red, White, and Blue baby.
- RFK Stadium - it shakes.
- $5 tickets. $5 beers. Orange Line Metro. 'Nuff said.
- Ryan Zimmerman. The Nats used their 1st pick (4th overall) in this year's draft to take UVA's Ryan Zimmerman, one of the best 3rd base prospects to come around in a while. He is a vacuum with the glove, and has a sweet stroke. I'll be first in line to get my Zimmerman jersey!
I love the NATS!!!
